Driving Growth in your organization with Tyler Wright of Innovation Factory 2013 LiFT Conference

LiFT is Innovation Factory’s newest initiative to support small and medium sized enterprises in the Hamilton Region.

Hamilton’s Regional Innovation Centre, Innovation Factory (iF), has become an integral business development resource for start-up companies in Hamilton over the past two years. Now, with support from the from the federal government’s IRAP program, iF is expanding their services to help Hamilton’s small and medium enterprises (SMEs) by introducing LiFT.

As a not-for-profit resource, iF offers objective, management-level business advice and support for little or no cost to SMEs. Through a network of strategic business resources, iF can offer expertise in all sectors of industry, including CleanTech, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Advanced Manufacturing, and Life and Health Sciences.

iF has already been helping several Hamilton-based SMEs including CareGo, CartaNova, Mabel’s Labels and factor[e] design initiative.

Dale Mugford of BraveNewCode says WordCamp Hamilton is Coming

Dale Mugford Co-Founder of BraveNewCode, has been designing and developing XHTML, CSS, Javascript and multimedia web projects since 1994. He loves web standards. New technologies. Coffee. He’s also fond of blowing considerable time on that last 20%.

BraveNewCode Inc. is Canadian company, and began in 2007 as a simple design & development portfolio for the work of Dale Mugford. In early 2008, software engineer Duane Storey climbed aboard contributing his extensive talents to the mix.

Dale handles most of the front-end design & CSS, while Duane contributes his extensive programming skills to the mix, making BraveNewCode a full-blown web creation company.

Uniquely, Dale and Duane share cross-over skills and a passion for quality and precision. Together, the projects and plugins they’ve built are thoughtfully created and maintained.

Bret Measor of HardCircle at HDMIHamOnt held at the AGH

Bret Measor was on hand at the HDMI Hamilton Event to show case is Game Development company HardCircle.

Established in 2008, Hard-Circle Inc. (Hard Circle, HC) is a small, casual video game company located in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The HC team consists of company president and lead designer Bret Measor, lead programmer Jeffrey Feenstra and lead artist Michael Opada, who have been collaborating since 2006 while attending vocational school together.

In addition to doing work on our own titles and projects, we are also active members of the flash community, collaborating with different studios by providing graphical and programming assets on other titles and joint projects. We also offer and provide these services for any party seeking contract or other work done on separate projects outside of the flash community.

Colin Ferguson of Snakehead Games Inc at HDMI Event

Colin Ferguson creates the strategic vision for Snakehead Games and drives the day-to-day implementation of this. As part of this, Colin identifies emerging opportunities, develops key stakeholder relationships, SHG’s tax credits & financing. Colin also handles HR, so he works with local educational facilities to identify top prospects, and builds internship programs. He is also active on game design, and in the SP/2165 Communities.

After an International award-winning online Marketing career, Colin developed an online social media startup, built over 1000 high traffic websites, then joined Snakehead Games as a founder and board member. Colin is known as AdminArrBilly (AAB) in the SHG community.

Snakehead Games (SHG) develops and manages free, highly social, casual browser based games. We’ve given the world Star Pirates and Spybattle 2165, two great browser-based games set at different points in a gripping cyberpunk dystopia, and brought the drama and spectacle of Imperial Rome with Coliseum.

Leor Grebler Displayed the Ubi Demo Night in Halton

Leor Grebler, holds a Bachelor’s in Aerospace Engineering from Carleton University. His responsibilities include business development, sales, and software architecture.

Ubi is a device that was launched for pre-order as a Kickstarter project in the summer of 2012. It raised over $229,000 in Kickstarter contributions. Ubi is also the first product to be offered by the Unified Computer Intelligence Corporation based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
